Throughout the year, Friends of Playa Vista organizes and hosts a variety of community events that bring our PVES families together while raising vital funds for our school. Events and dates below will be updated as plans for each are finalized. Also, be sure to watch ParentSquare for all event announcements.

🍎 Back-to-School (August–September)

  • School Beautification Day (Thursday, August 5th)– families join to refresh and prepare our campus for the year ahead.
  • Volunteer Breakfast (Wednesday, August 19th, 8:30-9:30am)– learn how to become a PVES volunteer and get involved supporting our school and events.
  • Back-to-School BBQ (Saturday, August 22nd, 4-6:30pm)– join new and old friends at Concert Park and enjoy food and fun- hosted by FPVS.
  • Back-to-School Night (Tuesday, August 25th for 3rd-5th; Wednesday, August 26th for TK-2nd, 5:30-6:30pm)- meet teachers, explore classrooms, and connect with our school community.
  • Annual Giving Campaign– our biggest fundraiser of the year supports programs and enrichment for every student.
  • Top Golf Night Out– break out the golf clubs and make it a parent night out or a family event raising money for our school!

🍁 Fall Fun (October- November)

  • BooBash (Saturday Oct 24th, 3-7pm)– our annual Halloween carnival filled with food, games, and more.
  • Read-A-Thon (November 2nd to 12th) – a schoolwide reading challenge that builds excitement for books.
  • Literati Book Fair (November 2nd to 6th)– kick-off the bookfair with the In-N-Out Truck Monday, Nov 2nd, and shop for new favorites and support our school.
  • See’s Candies Holiday Fundraiser (Kicks off early November)– a sweet way to support school programs and shop for tasty holiday gifts!

❄️ Winter Traditions (December–February)

  • Holiday Movie Night (Early December)– get cozy and wear your pjs for a fun holiday movie night at Cinemark.
  • Winter Concert– students perform and celebrate the holiday season.
  • Snow Day (Late January)– a snowy wonderland fundraiser bringing winter to PVES.
  • Parent/Child Dance (Late February)– our annual parent/child school dance where music and good times roll.

🌸 Spring into Learning (March–April)

  • Rock Roll & Run (Early March)– 1k/5k Fun Run for education at LMU to raise money for our school.
  • Spring Auction (Mid April)– snag some highly sought-after items while raising money for our school.

☀️ End-of-Year Celebrations (May-June)

  • Field Day & Color Run (Late April/Early May)– a fun-filled day of friendly competition with a colorful culmination.
  • Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week (May 3rd to 7th)– a week-long celebration for our teachers and staff.
  • Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast — FPVS hosted thank you breakfast honoring our amazing parent volunteers.
  • Staff vs. Student Kickball Game — a schoolwide favorite to kick off summer.
